Day care and early learning, from 4 months to Grade R.

At Twinkle Toes Learning Center, your child is looked after by people who know them by name — a warm, secure start to every day. From four months to Grade R, our rooms, routines and activities are shaped around each age group, so learning comes naturally in these important early years.

Grade R is the bridge year, and it runs on both sides of the campus. Children can continue straight into Vantage Point at Twinkle Toes for Grade 1 to Grade 7. See Vantage Point →

Learning

Play with a purpose behind it

We follow a play-based early childhood development approach. Teachers watch, write short notes on each child, and talk to you about progress twice a year.

Language and early literacy

Talking, listening, singing, stories and rhymes every day. Pre-schoolers move on to letter sounds, name writing and holding a pencil correctly. Grade R begins real reading and writing.

Numbers and thinking

Counting real things, sorting, patterns, puzzles, building and water play. By Grade R this becomes number recognition, simple addition and problem solving.

Body and movement

Climbing, balancing, running and ball skills outdoors. Indoors: cutting, threading, playdough, drawing — the small-muscle work that makes writing possible later.

Feelings and getting along

Naming feelings, waiting a turn, asking instead of grabbing, and fixing things after a fight. This is taught as deliberately as counting.

What sets us apart

Age-appropriate educational technology, with computer lessons from Grade RR. Baking and gardening as regular activities, not treats. Themed learning experiences and practical, hands-on work running through every group.
